Birthday Cards for Men …. So difficult to make and come up with ideas for unless they like motorcycles or boats! Anyway as a Stampin’ Up Demonstrator I need to keep finding new techniques to use on my cards so I found this one called ‘Emboss Resist’. It’s really quite simple and very effective. I used a background stamp called Medallion and inked it with the VersaMark watermark stamp pad then placed the vanilla card stock onto the large stamp and rubbed it down real well. Then I covered the image with clear embossing powder and used my heat gun until it ‘melted’. Then I used a sponge dauber dipped into the soft suede inkpad and gently rubbed the image all over when I’d finished I wiped the whole image with a tissue and there it is. Hope the effect comes over in the photograph as I think it’s stunning. I covered Chocolate chip card stock with a designer series paper called Well Worn which I think is suitable for our male population!
The sentiment was stamped from the sale-a-bration free stamp sets on offer until March 31st (ask for details) called Elementary Elegance Stamp Set and cut out using the Decorative Label Punch. I also decorated the inside so I can sign it ready to send out to my Brother in Law when his birthday arrives in April. Hope he doesn’t spot this before the date!
